Expressive Type: I chose a word ("FRAME") and illustrated the word through a play on its imagery.

Expressive Type: Given the word "NATURE," I illustrated the word in the environment it represented as if it was becoming part of "nature". The above three images show a succession.

Experimental Grids:
Experimental sketches of different layouts in a 3-column grid.
First Initial: Using my initial, "C," I formed the letter with imagery that's important to me.

Book Spine Cover: Incorporating the name of the class, "Typography I," with printed letters combined with hand-drawn gradients to keeping with the style of the work in the portfolio book.
